B-Sides Release Party at the Taproom! – 12/10

Come out to our Taproom in Milwaukie this Saturday, December 10 for the 2016 B-Sides Release Party!

We’re releasing 3 new beers from the B-Sides series, all blended barrel-aged sour and wild beers, some of which we’ve been working on for over 3 years.

Unlike the last B-Sides release, we will not be doing this as a ticketed party, but rather we will be releasing the beers during regular hours. The B-Sides that we are releasing this time around are bottle-only, so we will be doing complimentary samples of the bottled beers for anyone who wants to taste before buying.

Fourth Wave & Vienna Coffee Beer Release Party – 12/8

Seattle! Join us at Chuck’s Hop Shop Central District this Thursday for the Fourth Wave Release Party!

A few years ago, we joined forces with Stumptown Coffee Roasters to make the Vienna Coffee Beer, a lager infused with Stumptown Ethiopian Nano Challa coffee. Fourth Wave is a limited edition version of that award-winning beer, brewed with single-origin Stumptown Coffee and aged for 10 months in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.

Come taste this unique beer at Chuck’s Hop Shop Central District this Thursday. The Vienna Coffee and Fourth Wave release party goes from 6-8pm and Stumptown Coffee Roasters will also be on-site sampling the Ethiopian Nano Challa coffee alongside several of their other wonderful offerings.

Breakside’s Salted Caramel Stout is back!

Join us at NW IPA on November 22nd for the 3rd Annual Salted Caramel Stout Release party. Made in collaboration with Salt & Straw Ice Cream, this full-bodied stout perfectly blends sea salt and caramel for a rich, smooth and balanced flavor. Come try it! The release party starts at 6pm and also features a full tap takeover.

The event brings 100 talented vendors together in the produce row warehouse and showcases the work of Portland’s best makers and creators. Beaujolais Nouveau Street Fair – 11/17

Join us for the Beaujolais Nouveau Street Fair outside St. Jack this Thursday!

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is a French tradition that celebrates the first wine of the season. St. Jack is honoring the tradition with an evening street fair right on NW 23rd Avenue on November 17th. Come out to enjoy food from Portland favorites such as Ataula, Kachka, Grassa, Pips Original Doughnuts and more! There will be plenty of wine, drinks and most importantly, beer from Breakside! 2016 McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival – 11/4, 11/5

Join us for the 5th Annual McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival!

Come out to the Willamalane Center for live music, great food and more than seventy five craft brewers of cider and beer. This craft beer festival is the premier brew fest in Lane County.

Proceeds will support The Willamalane Foundation, the nonprofit advocacy organization formed in 1983 that supports the activities and facilities of Willamalane Park and Recreation District that works separately but in partnership with Willamalane.

Proceeds will also support the construction of a tiny house by students at Gateways High School. The house will be placed at the G-Street Oasis, a project of Catholic Community Services in Springfield for families in transition out of homelessness.

Fourth Annual Willamette Weekly Beer Pro/Am – 10/15

For this year’s event, 30 home brewers were each partnered with an established pro to create a brand new beer! Attend the festival this Saturday to try their new brews. You can even vote for your favorite collaboration and help elect the 2016 Beer Pro/Am People’s Choice Champion.

We’ll be voting for our brewer Ben Edmund’s collab with Ritch Marvin, a Sour Witbier with Ginger and Kumquat! It’s tart farmhouse wheat ale brewed with a mixed culture of Saccharomyces and Lactobacillus. Spicy notes of fresh ginger and juicy kumquat balance the yeast and acid profiles in this refreshing quaffer.

Great American Beer Festival – 10/6-10/8

gabfBreakside Brewery is thrilled to be heading to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival this October.

Founded in 1982, the festival is annually the largest collection of U.S. beer ever served, in a public tasting event and a private competition. This year, the Brewers Association expects 800 participating breweries, 3,800 beers and 60,000 attendees. We can’t wait to try craft beers from around the country and share our own Oregon-made brews!

  • Liquid Sunshine Pilsner 5.2% – Imported German Pilsner malt Hallertau Hersbrucker hops, unfiltered and naturally lagered for a crisp, bright-as-sunshine beer
  • Wanderlust IPA 6% – Bright golden in color, intense tropical, dank & grapefruit notes, five different hops, light malt profile
  • State Fair Saison 7.1% – Classic saison with orange peel & coriander, notes of white pepper, tropical fruit and slight banana
  • Homunculus 6% – This rustic pale ale is created by combining Belgian farmhouse yeast, American hops & six barrel-aged Brettanomyces beers. The beers range in age from 16-24 months and create a highly funky slightly acidic beer with just a hint of the barrel character.
  • Carte Blanche 7.7% – Gin meets Brett meets hops!! The beers in this blend range in age from 16-26 months and create a balance between funkiness, acidity and a large barrel-character presence.
